Healing Birth Trauma Groups
Our Healing Birth Trauma series is a free, birth trauma processing group for BIPOC community of all genders and identities. In this group we will explore how birth trauma impacts us emotionally and physically, gather tools to actively heal trauma around your birth and perinatal experience, and utilize different practices to support this process.
Our groups include:
1. 6 week online series
2. A healing practice: these vary from art therapy, movement, using traditional medicines, etc. As we schedule each new series, we will let you know which practice we'll be using for each group.
4. optional postpartum doula support
The Maternal Coalition is excited to be offering multiple groups throughout 2022.

Reporting Birthing Trauma
Our goal is to create an online space where people can report their birth trauma and negative experiences within medical systems and get support. Share whatever details you'd like to below and you have the option of a Community Advocate following up with you. We can help you with the following:
Connect you with how to report your birth trauma to a hospital/health system/birth center
Help you draft and send a formal complaint to most major systems
Connect you with sources: lawyers, doulas, emotional supports, workshops, therapists, to help you work through the trauma you experienced
The information you share will be confidentially (no names or personal information) used for the following:
Get a sense of how medical systems are contributing to traumatic birth experiences
To advocate for policy changes and, as appropriate, include in our Birth Advocacy Toolkits to ensure no other birthing people experience the same trauma
